A little bit about the farmer:
Emery Klein has worked the past 20 years as a full-time millwright and even had a brief stint as a millwright instructor at Red Deer College. he has now "retired" to fulfill his dream of being a full-time farmer. His passion is farming and he Is so excited to be home on the farm doing what he loves. Emery has a strong connection to the land and the livestock he raises. He is a strong steward of the land and has agronomic, environmental, and sustainable farming practices in place.
Emery is the first to say that he couldn’t do what he does without the help of his Family. He has 4 children, a significant other, Mother, and an Uncle that help out in various ways around the farm.
Emery loves his craft beer and skiing. whenever possible he heads out to tour craft breweries and hit the slopes throughout Alberta, parts of B.C. and the Lower Mainland.
A little bit about the farm:
Klein Farm is a family owned and operated farm, situated on the Prairies of Delburne, that includes commercial grain operations, a 20 acre orchard, outdoor raised free range chickens, and turkeys.
In July of 1948, Emery’s grandparents came to Alberta from Saskatchewan and opened a general store in Nevis. His Great Aunt and Great Uncle farmed grain fields in Delburne on a farm they bought in 1946. However, due to allergies, his Great Uncle and Grandfather exchanged careers and the rest, as they say, is history. In the 1990’s, Emery expanded his farming interests into raising poultry and the orchard followed shortly after.
Klein Farm Poultry are family cared for, naturally raised and free from hormones and medications. They are fed a wheat and flax diet containing no animal by-products and are finished on grass. We adhere to strict government guidelines and pass all government inspections.
Klein Farm also has a year round supply of frozen Saskatoon Berries, Blackcurrants, and rhubarb that are harvested from our orchard.
The Klein Family Farm has been serving the Central Alberta area for three generations.

You can find Klein Farm’s poultry and fruit at many of the local outdoor summer farmer’s markets. If you are in the area, please stop by at one of our locations as we love getting to know our customers. An up to date list of the farmers markets we attend can be found here.
You can also make arrangements through our contact page to come to the farm and purchase chicken if you are unable to make it to one of our market locations.
